Beginning With an End

In our last goodbye,
I wondered if
I do love you
Far too recklessly.

'A kiss at what cost,'
They speak not
From my own heart-

'How far would you go,'
They suggest places
I wouldn't venture?

My heartbeat will pound,
On until this world
Carries you back to
My wet seashore arms,
Like a wild flower
Floating river to meadow.
